Demon Slayer: Mugen Train officially ranks as the highest earning movie of 2020 with 477 million dollars. We’re not talking about Japan alone here but the global box office. While the pandemic clearly plays in a role in this, the fact remains that the film surpassed Spirited Away as well, the last movie to hold the title of all-time highest earnings in Japanese box office history in addition to becoming the first non-Hollywood film to top the yearly box office worldwide charts. It’s quite an accomplishment.

Screen Anime Closes in the UK

Anime Limited has announced that the Screen Anime streaming service will be discontinued on the 25th of May of this year (Basically, tomorrow). The service’s termination also means that its benefits, such as the 10% discount on the AllTheAnime Shop, will be discontinued as well. To “compensate” for the service’s termination, Anime Limited will now offer a membership service that replicates the benefits for £17.99 a year. The membership will be called Anime (Un)limited and will include a 10% discount, unspecified special offers at conventions starting in 2022, a magazine shipped to your home and unspecified exclusive deals in the store throughout the year (Which may not be redeemable alongside the 10% discount).
