New Series Announcements

  • Isekai no Hime to no Koi Bakuchi ni, Jinrui no Sonboo ga Kakkatemasu (Humanity’s Existence Depends on Love Gambling with Another World’s Princess): The new manga will be created by Homura Kawamoto and Zuzu Kamiya and will first publish on August 19 in Champion RED.
  • Kaori-san wa Tensei Shitemo Kenka ga Shitai (Even Reincarnated, Kaori’s Still Spoiling for a Fight): The new series will be launched by Hekiru Hikawa on August 23 in the magazine Morning Two. The story focuses on Ryusei Narukami, a dark lord from a fantasy world reincarnated into our world who spends his days playing video games; and Kaori Meteor, the hero who defeated him and is now reincarnated as a high school girl.
  • Majin Reino to Sennen no Fuin (Majin Reino & Millennium Seal): Robinson Haruhara launched the manga on NicoNico. It is described as a comedy manga in full color (See illustrations below).
  • Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch aqua: The manga is a sequel to Mermaid Melody manga and will be launched by Pink Hanamori on August 3 in Nakayoshi magazine. The manga will feature a “new blue romance” with Lucia’s daughter.

Series Ending Report

  • Blackguard: Ryo Hanada’s manga will end in its 5th volume with the author currently working on a manuscript for the final chapter.
  • Kangibanka: Koji Megumi’s manga, based on Shogo Imamura’s Jinkan novel, ended in the 33rd issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine.
  • Ponkotsu-chan Kenshochu (Miss Clumsy Currently Under Inspection): Tsubasa Fukuchi’s manga ended on July 21 in Weekly Shonen Sunday.
  • The Decagon House Murders (Jukkakukan no Satsujin): Hiro Kiyohara’s manga adaptation of Yukito Ayatsuji’s novel is entering its final arc.
  • Those Not-so-Sweet Boys (Amakunai Karera no Nichijo wa): Yoko Nogiri’s manga is entering its final arc.

New Normal Manga Announced

Akito Aihara’s manga will focus on a dystopian world where the pandemic’s masks have become a common element of society, creating a society so broken that just showing your face to someone now counts as “sexy”. The story focuses on a group of characters who break the rules and commit the “daring” act of showing their faces to each other, when no one is looking, in secret…

Anime News Network took the time to mention that these were the “new values of a transformed society” and that this might very well be a “plausible future for Japanese youths”.
