Atlanta, GA – September 22, 2018 – Lumica will exhibit for the first time at Anime Weekend Atlanta September 21-23, 2018 with a large booth display, limited edition merchandise, and songs to dance to all weekend long.
Japan’s legendary ANISONG DJ CAESAR will be presented by Lumica Corporation and debuts for the first time in the United States at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2018! DJ CAESAR has played at many of Japan’s largest events and festivals world-wide and will spin popular anime songs while he demonstrates “pen light” (both chemical and electric glow stick and glow baton) usage, call and response, and explains Japanese ANISONG culture! Come visit this exclusive panel hosted by LUMICA and learn to how to experience and perform, and perhaps win a few prizes?! Everyone is welcome to come listen, have fun, and dance along if they wish! “DJ Caesar” (https://twitter.com/DJ_caesar_AKIBA) is a legendary pioneer of Anisong DJ in Japan. He has remixed tracks for Weekly Shonen Jump’s 50th Anniversary Commemorative CD “Weekly Shonen Jump 50th Anniversary BEST ANIME MIX”. He appeared in popular events such as “JUMP MUSIC FESTA Yokohama Arena”, “NikoNiko Super Conference”, “World Cosplay Summit”, “LisAni! Night”, “Re:animation” and others. He has led the way in creating the current Akiba-style DJ scene, and now gives DJ lessons to voice actors, artists and talents.
AniParty (https://www.facebook.com/ANISONGPARTY/) is the premiere anime song (anisong) D.J. club event in the U.S. AniParty draws influence from the “anikura” subculture of music nightclub event, popularized in Akihabara, Tokyo. Anikura centers around “Akiba-kei” music which consists of anime songs, idol music, as well as popular fan-created works such as Vocaloid and Touhou. Similar to fans of idol live performances, the crowd at anikura events is generally well versed in coordinated cheering and chanting known broadly as “wotagei”. Anikura has seen a massive surge in popularity over the recent years with multiple events every weekend in nightclubs across all of Japan. The goal of AniParty is to create an authentic, faithful anikura experience for U.S. fans of anime and anisong.
