Anime Production Industry Reaches Record Income

The anime industry saw a record US$1.8 billion profit in 2017, an increase of around 39.6% on a year-to-year basis. It is interesting to note that the fierce competition between studios has led to an increase in the amount of work studios do while seeing a drop in the price for work.

Meanwhile, on the less positive side of the industry, studio amo just filed for bankruptcy on August 8. The company was establisshed since 1993 and did subcontracting work on various series (Including Oreimo, Psycho-Pass, Twin Star Exorcist, Black Clover…).
