Japanese Government Plans to Start Controlling People’s Internet
The Japanese government plans to force internet providers to block certain sites that offer manga without authorization. Putting aside the issue of piracy, this is actually taking action to limit people’s ability to access the web freely as they see fit and establishes an ugly precedent; and history has shown that such precedents always end up being abused sooner or later. Even the news media in Japan are reporting that there is no legal precedent for such a move and that it may actually be unconstitutional.
