Sunrise is making a film trilogy for Yoshiyuki Tomino’s Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash novel series. It is also producing a compilation film project for Gundam: Reconguista in G to be released in 2019. A new Gundam Build work has also been announced for 2019 although there are no details as of now and a new SD Gundam series titled World Sangoku Soketsuden will also be released the same year.

It was also announced that Mobile Suite Gundam Narrative will get an English dub; the project opened on November 30 in Japan.

Sunrise also took the opportunity to announce their ambitious intention to release a movie every two years for the Gundam franchise.

On the less cheery side of Sunrise, it was revealed by Mitsuo Fukuda that a production assistant for the studio has worked 59 hours in four days and that this is normal scheduling for the studio. The situation has been ongoing for a month now. This seems to be a persistent problem in the industry with even Ghibli falling victim to these sort of “Difficult” working conditions and studios’ attempts at improving the situation being less than exceptional.
