Netflix Producing Live Avatar Series

Avatar: The Last Airbender is getting adapted into a series by Netflix and this time, they promise a “Culturally appropriate” cast. This of course, refers to M. Night Shyamalan’s movie which had wildly inappropriate casting at the time. But whether or not Netflix is willing to cast legitimate Asian and Inuit actors for the roles or will simply cast black actors and call it “Diverse” before insulting the franchise’s fans if they complain is uncertain; but given the direction the industry is taking lately, there is still reason to worry until the actual casting is announced.
