Goro Taniguchi and Ichiro Okouchi are both returning for the last movie of the alternate continuity, recap trilogy.

OKouchi was quoted:

At the time of the television series, I intended to close the book on Lelouch’s story after the final episode…

However, this film, Glorification, is a little different. It wasn’t intended to be an end but a beginning.

He further added that they are not invalidating the TV series’ canon but that the new trilogy should be seen as a “New possible outcome” instead. This confirms that the movie trilogy, and subsequently Lelouch of the Resurrection, are set in an alternate continuity and are not canon with the original series. I had theorized as much in this article.

A new Code Geass manga has also just been launched. Titled Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Re;, it is being handled by Tomofumi Ogasawara and the scenario was planned by Kojiro Taniguchi. It is being advertised as the “Definitive version” of Code Geass in manga form. The story is set right after Lelouch and Suzaku begin the Zero Requiem Plan.

The visual can be seen above and reads “Look, world. And you should wait. The arrival of the moment of truth.”
