Censorship is an ugly topic that tends to rear its ugly head every so often and it seems it has again in both Japan and the UK.

Sister New Devil Season 1 UK Update

First off, UK residents will be pleased to know that The Testament of Sister New Devil Season 1 has been passed uncut in the UK and received an 18 rating. While this is good news for fans of the series, it does also serve to highlight how draconian censorship is: People were left hoping and begging that the show would be released as intended while an arbitrary body was debating whether or not you would be allowed to decide what you want to watch based on even more arbitrary rules. If this doesn’t give you shivers I don’t know what will.

Boruto’s Latest Bout of Censorship

Due to Japan’s strict rules on broadcast TV, the Boruto series was hit by the same curse Jojo has faced recently: Its cigarettes were censored off even if it made the characters look stupid. Although we can expect a better treatment on the home video release, such incidents and their absurdity does get heavy with time.
